لاتزال قوات الاحتلال الاسرائيلية منذ إحتلالها للأراضي العربية السورية في هضبة الجولان عقب عدوان عام 67 تمارس أبشع أنواع الممارسات القمعية الممنهجة والواسعة النطاق ضد السكان المدنيين في الجولان السوري المحتل ، الأمر الذي خلف آثارا خطيرة على كافة الأصعدة إمتدت لتطال المواطنين السوريين وبشكل خاص الذين وقفوا بشجاعة ضد سياسات الاستيطان والمحاولات الإسرائيلية لتغيير البنى الأصلية للجولان بشريا وجغرافيا ومارسوا حقهم المشروع في مقاومة الاحتلال فتعرضوا نتيجة لذلك للأسر والإعتقال والتعذيب وواجهوا أحكاما جائرة بالسجن لفترات طويلة .

إن الممارسات اللاانسانية المختلفة لقوات الاحتلال الاسرائيلة في الجولان المحتل خصوصا فيما يتعلق بمعاملة الأسرى والمعتقلين,إنما هي خرق فاضح لجميع اتفاقيات جنيف والمعاهدات الدولية الخاصة بأسرى الحرب والسكان المدنيين الواقعين تحت الاحتلال، وإنتهاك صريح لكافة الأعراف الدوليـة والإنسانيـة.

وفي مناخ من السياسات التمييزية التي تمارسها سلطات الاحتلال ضد العاملين في مجال الصحافة و الإعلام من أبناء الجولان السوري المحتل و خصوصا العاملين في وسائل الإعلام السورية أو العربية جـاء إعتقال الصحفي السوري عطـا فرحـات في معرض قيامه بعمله كمراسل لجريدة الوطن السورية ورئيسا لتحرير موقع (جولان تايمز) ومراسلا للتلفزيون السوري ليؤكد السياسة التي تتبعها قوات الاحتلال الإسرائيلية في التعتيم الإعلامي على الانتهاكات الواقعة على المواطنين السوريين و فرض قيود على عمل الصحفيين في محاولة لعزل الجولان السوري المحتل عن العالم الخارجي و حرمان أبنائه من حق التعبير عن رأيهم.

وإننا في ( سواسية ) إذ نحمل سلطات الاحتلال الإسرائيلية المسؤولية الكاملة عن التدهور الصحي لجميع الأسرى وخصوصا الأسيرين سيطان الولي وصدقي المقت, فإننا نتوجه إلى هيئة الأمم المتحدة والى مجلس حقوق الإنسان من اجل الضغط على قوات الاحتلال الإسرائيلية لوقف مختلف ممارساتها القمعية بحق الأسرى والمعتقلين معربين عن قلقنا الجاد والخطير من نتائج الإهمال الطبي المتعمد, التي أودت بحياة الأسير الشهيد هايل أبو زيد بعد إصابته بمرض السرطان داخل المعتقلات الإسرائيلية،والتي يمكن أن تتكرر بحق بقية الأسرى الآخرين والبالغ عددهم أربعة عشر أسيرا حيث مضى على اعتقال بعضهم أكثر من واحد وعشرين عاما داخل السجون الإسرائيلية وهم:

تعاطي مخدرات بين الجنود في موقع عسكري إسرائيلي في الجولان المحتل

كشف النقاب مؤخرا عن اعتقال جنود من لواء الناحل يخدمون في أحد المواقع العسكرية في الجولان المحتل بتهمة تعاطي المخدرات أثناء الخدمة. الأمر الذي اعتبرته أوساط سياسية وعسكرية إسرائيلية «أمرا خطيرا».

ويأتي ذلك في ظل الحديث عن مخاوف إسرائيلية من اندلاع حرب على الجبهة السورية واهتمام سياسي وإعلامي واسع.

وقد كشف قائد الكتيبة وجود ظاهرة تعاطي المخدرات بين جنوده، بعد أيام من تسلمه قيادة الكتيبة، وفي مشاورات مع الشرطة العسكرية تقرر البدء في التحقيق.

وقد ساورت المقدم عودد بار عوز شكوكا، في الأيام الأولى لتسلمه قيادة الكتيبة، بأن جنودا في الوحدة العاملة في الموقع يتعاطون المخدرات. وتقرر في أعقاب مشاورات أجراها مع الشرطة العسكرية البدء في التحقيق.
يوم الأحد الماضي وصل محققو الشرطة العسكرية إلى الموقع العسكري "حرمون" واحتجزوا 14 جنديا للتحقيق. وبعد التحقيقات الأولية اعتقلت الشرطة 4 جنود على ذمة التحقيق، وأوقفت 8 جنود عن الخدمة العسكرية إلى حين انتهاء التحقيق.

وأكد مكتب الناطق الإعلامي للجيش الإسرائيلي النبأ وقال أن اشرطة العسكرية تحقق في القضية وأن أربعة جنود اعتقلوا، بينهم جندي لم يفرج عنه بعد. مشيرا إلى أن بعد انتهاء التحقيقات ستقدم نتائج التحقيق للنيابة العسكرية.

I keep hearing about speculations and rumors about a secret agreement between Syria and Israel in the works, as we speak. According to some of these speculations, the arrangement is that Israel will return most of the Golan to Syria and only keep the "strategic areas" and some settlements. In exchange, Syria will receive an equivalent amount of land from Jordan and Lebanon respectively, Israel would compensate them both from its "own" land.
This is like Sykes-Picot determining the shape of the Arab states and inventing borders between states them, in total disregard of the natives (they are extras or "don't exist" as Golda Meir commented about the Palestinians). The Golan is Arab and NOT Israeli, hence, its not their land to determine how it should be divided! Israel must withdraw from all Arab occupied lands, allow the refugees to return AND compensate them. NOW!

25th Anniverssary of the Golan Strike

After a long period of time in which I have not updated this blog, I decided today its about time to make a come back. Today marks the 25th anniverssary of a courageous strike by the Arabs of the Golan who refused to accept the annexation of their land to Israel. Till this day the Arabs of the Golan reject Israeli citizenship and are anxious to return to their homeland, Syria. Mark my words, they will one day.

People of Ghajar Speak Out

The village of Ghajar is located in the Golan on the border with Lebanon. Israel plans to build a wall that will divide the village to a northern part under Lebanese rule and a southern part under illegal Israeli occupation. The people of Ghajar have fiercely protested against the Israeli proposal and the result has been clashes between the natives and the Israeli authorities. In regards to this issue a resident of Ghajar said: "the issue for us is a matter of life or death. We are the guardians of this land and we will never give it up till the day of liberation...the people of Ghajar have lived here for 900 years, they are Syrian and there is documentation to prove that these lands belong to the province of Quniatera, Syria. Before the Israeli occupation we never felt that there was a border that separates us from our Lebanese neighbors, here you are in Syria and two meters away you will find yourself in Lebanon!"

62 Illegal Settler Families

After Israel finally withdrew from the Gaza Strip (although they still control access into and out of the strip and the air, sea and water resources), some settler families decided to move to another illegally occupied land, the Golan. Any settlement in the Golan, West Bank or ANY occupied territory is illegal under international law and violates the Geneva conventions but this is not new to zionism. These settlers deliberately chose to move from an illegal settlement in Gaza to another illegal settlement in the Golan. Will the Israeli government that is praised in the US as the the only democracy in Middle East do anything about this? Answer: not as long as it embraces zionism.

Apples and Snow: Two Symbols of Golan

Yes, it does snow in some parts of the Middle East, the Occupied Golan happens to be one of them. Earlier this year Syrians enjoyed these delicious Golan apples for the first time since 1967. Here is the story from BBC:

Syria to import Golan apples

Syria has announced that it will buy 10,000 tons of apples from Arab farmers in the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights.

It is the first time Syria has traded with Israeli-controlled territory. It usually observes an Arab League boycott of the Jewish state.

The decision came after farmers in the region had repeatedly called on the government to buy their produce, the Syrian foreign ministry said.

The ministry indicated that this would be a one-off transaction.

Explaining the decision, the ministry said in a statement that the apples were being imported "due to the harsh economic conditions which our brothers in the occupied Golan Heights are suffering from".

The apples were "grown on Syrian land and owned by Syrians," the statement said.

Citizens of Golan stand in support of Syria

Hundreds occupied Golan citizens marched in protest of the current US threats against Syria. Of course they also called for the liberation of their own land as well.
In other unrelated news it was reported that the Syrian regime definitely forced them to demonstrate...sure.

Free Our Golan

This blog is dedicated to the liberation of a forgotten occupied Arab land, the Golan Heights or Hadhabat Al-Jawlan. As a citizen of Syria, I have been prevented from visiting the Golan Heights because it was stolen from my country by the zionist military in 1967.
Among all occupied Arab lands, the Golan Heights has experienced the highest level of ethnic cleansing per capita. Before the Israeli aggression, it had a population of about 500,000 of those indiginous inhabitants only 17,000 remain today.
I hope that through this blog I can educate myself and others about the Golan issue and maybe one day the racist Israeli occupation will come to an end.
